Football 'Crootin Roundup is makin' a list, checkin' it twice

New, 9 comments

It's that time of year for recruiting, as final lists of schools are narrowed for members the class of 2013 and players in the class of 2014 are forming their early lists.

For 2013, official visits are on tap and junior days await the class of 2014.

The Spartans have made plenty of lists and will host plenty of players in the coming two months, as high school seasons are over and players head out to visit schools.

Prep QB Damion Terry rewrites the District 10 record book, again (PennLive) - In another kind of list, Terry has been moving up the list of not only district passing records, but state records as well. With four passing touchdowns in tonight's state title game, he will tie the state record with 52.

Four on Muhammad's list (Scout) - Four-star strongside defensive end Alquadin Muhammad has Michigan State among his final four and is looking to make a visit in January. He attends Don Bosco Prep, which produced current Spartan James Kittredge.

Down to final three, DB may decide soon (Rivals) - Florida product Justin Williams is going to end up in the Midwest, and MSU is one of his final choices, along with Purdue and Cincinnati. He will visit Jan. 18.

Jay-nard Bostwick names new leaders (SB Nation) - The Spartans still are in the market for another defensive lineman and the big-bodied Bostwick would meet that need.

Standout junior looking to visit (247) - Tampa Catholic junior T.J. Harrell had a big season and has an impressive offer list, and MSU is high on his list. Harrell is the cousin of former Spartan Jeremy Ware.

Morrissey on the Spartan board (Rivals) - Spartan legacy Matt Morrissey is getting a long look from the MSU coaching staff. He doesn't have an offer, but if he did, MSU would be in good position for the safety.

Gary Hosey talks about his interest in Michigan State (247) - The Spartans already have one commitment from a 2014 linebacker from Cass Tech (Deon Drake), and are interested Hosey, too. Hosey plays running back and linebacker, and could project to either position.
