The 2012 Women’s Clinic, A Fan’s Tale -- Jim from Shaw Lane Spartans' wife attended the Women's Football Clinic last weekend, and recaps the event. It's a very good read for those of us who have tried to attend in a wig before (and I've forgiven you MSU security, you were just doing your job).
Spartan Football Home Schedule Features Two Prime-Time Games - MICHIGAN STATE OFFICIAL ATHLETIC SITE The Boise State game, as expected, will be Friday August 31 at 8 PM on ESPN, while the Notre Dame game will take place at 8 PM Saturday September 15th on ESPN. I'm disappointed that none of the Big Ten games will be on prime time; I feel MSU-OSU could've been great under the lights and I think we're still all waiting for a night MSU-UM game. However, the one good part about no Big Ten night games, as Heck pointed out to me, is that MSU doesn't have to enter Camp Randall at night. That's a relief.
Memories... - LSJ Blogs: Hey, Joe Rexrode breaks down his memories of John L's tenure at MSU, and holy crap Mr. Smith held some grudges. If you want the brief version it's here, but both pieces are really worth reading, if only to realize the extent trustee Joel Ferguson interjected himself into the football program during the JLS years. It's gross, really.
MSU's Andrew Maxwell "bummed" he'll miss spring game - College Sports - The Detroit News Maxwell blames his slight knee injury on a "freak pileup" during the first scrimmage, and while it's a bummer Maxwell won't be able to commandeer one of the teams on Saturday, it's also a relief the Spartans haven't had any significant injuries during the Spring so far KNOCK ON ALL THE WOOD HA HA HA
Maxwell ready to make his mark at MSU - Big Ten Blog - ESPN More comparisons of Maxwell to Cousins, but with a little discussion of athletic abilities. Here's the money quote:
Maxwell is a little more athletic than Cousins. He was a high jumper in high school, at one point clearing 6 feet, 7 inches. Which basically means he jumped over William Gholston, though he's not apt to try that in practice. ("I don't know if the Fosbury Flop would work as well against Will," he jokes).
