MSU-Iowa Second Half Game Thread

Brian Spurlock-USA TODAY Sports

Iowa leads 14-10 at the half. Early on, this game certainly looked like it was going to live up to the punt-a-thon billing, as MSU had short drives stall out with a failed 4th down attempt and missed field goal, while Iowa took nearly 25 minutes to get their first first down of the game.

Connor Cook has been reasonably effective through the air so far, at 13 for 22, 153 yards, and a 46-yard touchdown pass to Macgarrett Kings. That put the Spartans up 10-0; however, Iowa immediately abandoned the run (just 12 attempts for 17 yards so far) and has had surprising success through the air since. Jake Rudock hit 10 passes in a row on the last two drives, both ending in touchdowns; he's 12 of 15 for 143 yards. Darqueze Dennard and Isaiah Lewis both got injured on the same play early in the first of those drives; Dennard has been back in, not sure about Lewis.

MSU gets the ball to start the second half. You know the drill.
