Photo of the Week: Marching band 'S' on homecoming (1953)

Michigan State College Marching band forms the famous "S" during the halftime show at the October 17, 1953 Homecoming Game versus Indiana University. The back reads: "MSC Marching Band - 1953. Indiana vs. MSC (Homecoming) Oct. 17, 1953, Half-time show. The big 'S' is successful again in thwarting an attempt upon its record and is saluted by the band. Song: 'Fight Song'"

MSU won the homecoming game 47-18. It was MSU's 28th win in a row, a school record. The streak would end next week at Purdue. It was also Biggie Munn's last season as head coach.
