MSU doesn't have the No. 1 ranking yet. They have to get by Columbia of the Ivy League, first. Here's a mini-preview.

The Lions are No. 202 in KenPom, with a 1-1 record. They opened with a 73-54 win over No. 346 Maryland Eastern Shore and followed with a 71-70 loss to No. 70 Manhattan. Columbia is slowwww, ranking No. 327 in tempo. We've seen this MSU team can run.

They rank in the top 100 in eFG%, FT rate, 2P% and steal percentage on offense, but with it being so early in the season, opponents matter, and the Lions are No. 201 in adjO. It's a little worse defensively.

Players to watch include guard Grant Mullins and forward Cory Osetkowski. Mullins is averaging 18 points per game on 11-for-16 shooting (5-for-9 from 3). He's No. 21 nationally in offensive rating. Osetkowski has the highest usage rate on the team, averaging 12.5 points and 7.0 rebounds. He's gotten to the free throw line, going 10-for-16 from the strips in two games.

Hopefully this will be stress-free. There is football to get ready for. KenPom gives MSU a 98 percent chance and has a 76-55 MSU win.
