Kirk Cousins to start for Washington

Chris Humphreys-USA TODAY Sports

Robert Griffin III is being shut down for the rest of the season as the messy situation in Washington gets worse. Kirk Cousins will likely be the starter for the remaining three games.

It's an opportunity to audition and possibly earn himself a trade out of there.

Cousins has won his only career start, going 26-for-37 for 329 yards, 2 touchdowns and one interception in a 38-21 win over the Browns last season.

Brian Hoyer was doing well with his opportunity in Cleveland this season, before tearing his ACL. We'll see what Cousins can do.
