My day job, CoachingSearch.com, broke the story this morning that former Ohio State offensive coordinator Jim Bollman will join the MSU football staff. Bollman was recently hired as OL coach at Purdue.
It's unclear at the moment if Bollman will be the offensive coordinator, but this is Mark Dantonio going all-out on Tresselball. Bollman was Tressel's OC in Columbus, and Mark Dantonio spent some time as DC. Bollman and Dantonio also spent time under Tressel at Youngstown State and under Nick Saban at MSU.
Ohio State fans were not too fond of him, given the results with the talent they had, but he's got plenty of experience and generally knows the MSU system. It may not be an outside the box or sexy hire, but it's what Dantonio wanted.
Our friends at Land-Grant Holy Land are puzzled by the hire and compared him to Al Borges.

UPDATE: MSU has confirmed the hire of Bollman. He will be co-OC/TEs, Dave Warner moves to co-OC/RBs and Brad Salem moves to RBs. Warner will be the playcaller.
