For the third straight year, MSU football will open the season on a Friday. The school announced today that the 2013 opener against Western Michigan was moved to Friday from Saturday.
The time and TV have yet to be announced, but it obviously will be a night game, and I imagine the TV will end up being BTN.
I like this move. Playing on Friday night brings a little more local fanfare to what would otherwise probably be one of many noon snoozers across the country on Saturday. With it being Labor Day weekend, it also allows people to have more vacation time. The only problem is it creates even more traffic with people heading to the game or up north. The weather is usually nice, too. Not too hot.
But overall, not many people seem to be against the Friday opener. What do you think?
