Early MSU betting lines released

The Golden Nugget has released more than 200 college football lines. Here are the MSU ones listed.

The Iowa line surprises me, only because both teams have dreadful offenses. The difference in the Michigan and Northwestern games are just home field.

If you're keeping track, this means MSU is favored in nine games this season. I think eight regular season wins has to be the minimum for the season to not be considered a disappointment. Getting nine-plus wins is a good year and probably puts them in division contention.

Also, in scheduling news, MSU will kick off against USF at noon on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.

So we know: Aug. 31 WMU 8 p.m.; Sept. 7 S. Fla noon; Sept. 21 at ND 3:30; Oct. 5 at Iowa noon; Oct. 12 IU noon; Oct. 26 at Illinois 3:30.
