More schedules!
We've already seen the 2014 schedule (favorable) and 2015 (not favorable). Here are 2016 and 2017, featuring nine conference games.
2016
Oct. 1 - AT Indiana
Oct. 8 - Wisconsin
Oct. 15 - Northwestern
Oct. 22 - AT Maryland
Oct. 29 - Michigan
Nov. 5 - AT Illinois
Nov. 12 - Rutgers
Nov. 19 - Ohio State
Nov. 26 - AT Penn State
-First off, #BorderBattle! Second, it's a pretty favorable schedule. Like 2014, MSU gets both U-M and OSU at home. I know this is years away, but Penn State appears to be the only difficult conference road game. Nine conference games means no bye week.
-As for the nonconference schedule, MSU has Alabama on the road and home games against Notre Dame, Eastern Michigan and Furman. I would expect the Furman game to be dropped. That's a helluva home slate.
2017
Sept. 30 - Iowa
Oct. 7 - AT Michigan
Oct. 14 - AT Minnesota
Oct. 21 - Indiana
Oct. 28 - AT Northwestern
Nov. 4 - Penn State
Nov. 11 - AT Ohio State
Nov. 18 - Maryland
Nov. 25 - AT Rutgers
- A more difficult schedule with U-M and OSU on the road, but the cross-over games (Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern) are favorable. Season-finale isn't Penn State this time. Not sure why.
-Nonconference games include Alabama, Miami (OH), at Notre Dame and Western Michigan. One has to be dropped, but MSU also needs to have at least seven home games. Curious if ND is going to be moved.
