This photograph shows the Michigan State University Marching Band entertaining a capacity audience around the Lower Plaza at Rockefeller Center at 5:00 p.m. on May 18, 1964. During the hour-long program the 140-piece band, under the direction of Leonard Falcone, drew rounds of applause with stirring marches, college songs, and popular numbers. Earlier in the day the band participated in Michigan Day ceremonies at the New York World's Fair.
