Today is a sad day to be a Spartan fan. Lacey Holsworth, who with love and support throughout Michigan State, valiantly fought the cancer inside her. That battle came to an end today at 3 AM, as she passed away. While sports can seem to be a silly thing to get worked up about, the passion and love that we feel for Michigan State helped rally a young child and gave her the support she needed at her and her family's time of need. I'll end with Tom Izzo's comments to WVFN this morning transcribed by LSJ reporter Chris Solari, and a reminder that this page will point you in the right direction if you want to help the Holsworth family in their time of need.
Tom Izzo on WVFN, about Lacey Holsworth: "It's something we knew was getting worse. Nobody wants anyone to suffer."

Izzo on WVFN "Last 2 months, she's a household name in the entire country. A lot of it is because of what Adreian did. I'm so proud of him."
— Chris Solari (@chrissolari) April 9, 2014
Izzo on WVFN about Lacey: "If there's any way to go with dignity, she went. And if there's any way to live 8 yrs & seem like she got 30 in."

Izzo on WVFN about Lacey Holsworth: "She taught me, she taught my family, my kids, she taught my players."

Izzo on WVFN about Lacey: "If it's possible to live a lifetime in 8 years, she at least got to do a decent job of that."
— Chris Solari (@chrissolari) April 9, 2014
Izzo on WVFN about Payne/Lacey: "That's what I told AP, that you made a difference. And that's what we're all trying to do in this world."
— Chris Solari (@chrissolari) April 9, 2014
Izzo on WVFN on Payne/Lacey "You try to make a difference in somebody else's life & not our own. He got a chance to do that at 20 years old"
— Chris Solari (@chrissolari) April 9, 2014
Izzo on WVFN about Payne/Lacey's relationship: "I thinks he appreciated it, and I know her family did."
