Tom Izzo was the star as Michigan State beat Boston College 99-68, as the coach earned his 500th career victory.

Denzel Valentine recorded his second triple-double of the season to help his team to victory in the first game of the Wooden Legacy tournament.

Valentine capped-off the game with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

He now joins a list of players to record  multiple triple-doubles that includes Draymond Green and Magic Johnson.

The win gives Izzo a 500-199 record in 21 seasons as MSU's head coach. He's now the 91st coach to record 500 wins in at least 10 seasons in NCAA Div 1.
