Recap: Tom Izzo Gets 500 Wins As MSU Beats Boston College

Tom Izzo was the star as Michigan State beat Boston College 99-68, as the coach earned his 500th career victory.

Denzel Valentine recorded his second triple-double of the season to help his team to victory in the first game of the Wooden Legacy tournament.

Valentine capped-off the game with 29 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists.

He now joins a list of players to record  multiple triple-doubles that includes Draymond Green and Magic Johnson.

The win gives Izzo a 500-199 record in 21 seasons as MSU's head coach. He's now the 91st coach to record 500 wins in at least 10 seasons in NCAA Div 1.

MSU will play Boise State in the semifinal at 5:30 p.m. EST on Friday.
