Week Twelve Staff Game Predictions: Michigan State vs Penn State

With the road to the Big Ten Conference championship in sight and playoff opportunity ahead, the Spartans will give it all they have to close the season out with a victory in East Lansing.

After a couple of defensive stops, key scores, and a game-winning field goal, Michigan State is back in conference championship and playoff discussion. The Spartans have faced a lot of criticism this year with many people thinking they were overrated and not talented enough to pull off big wins throughout their season. This year the Spartans have gone toe to toe with dominant programs such as Oregon, Michigan, and Ohio State. All three results ended in the Spartans favor, including Michigan at the "Big House" and against Ohio State in Columbus. Now the Spartans are looking to seal the deal this weekend against the Nittany Lions in East Lansing, where seniors will play their last home game of their lives. Michigan State will enter this game with (potentially) backup quarterback Tyler O'Connor, a very young backfield, and a senior-led receiving crew. The Spartans will face a 7-4 Penn State team looking to snap a two-game losing streak before the postseason emerges. The Spartans are expecting to keep reaching higher and make a strong statement going into the championship game where they will face the undefeated Iowa Hawkeyes.
