The Spartans will still be without Denzel Valentine as they open up Big Ten play against an Iowa team which has several reasons to be seeking revenge. First, Iowa faithful might still be a little fired up about that L.J. Scott touchdown run in the Big Ten Championship (I know I am). Second, MSU has beaten Iowa in 14 of the last 15 matchups on the hardwood. One of those matchups included one of my favorite MSU basketball plays ever:

Also of note: Tom Izzo will be coaching one day after the passing of his father. I'm sure it will be an emotional day for him as well as the team.
