Week Thirteen Staff Game Predictions: BIG Ten Championship

The Spartans will have one final shot at the playoffs this weekend against an undefeated Iowa team. Can Michigan State pull one off in Indianapolis?

Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Michigan State has a chance to officially put themselves in the playoffs this weekend, as they will take on the Iowa Hawkeyes for the Big Ten title. Connor Cook and the Spartans are standing at No.5 in the nation behind Iowa, who is looking to hold on for a chance to remain perfect in the win-loss column. The two teams will clash at Lucas Oil Stadium, in Indianapolis on Saturday evening. Connor Cook and the Spartans are coming off an impressive performance where they put on a clinic against the Nittany Lions. Michigan State is looking to do the same against a tough Iowa team that had a bit of a scare last weekend when they played the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Iowa will rely on the legs of Jordan Canzeri, who is very explosive between the tackles. Iowa is dominant on the ground, pounding in 35 touchdowns while the passing game has only 14. Michigan State's front seven will have their hands full this weekend containing the run and forcing the Hawkeyes into critical third down situations. If the Spartans' defense can dominate and the offense can produce, then the Spartans have a good chance at entering the playoffs. As usual, we at the The Only Colors have our staff game predictions ready and are highly favoring Michigan State. Check them out below:
