For the first time in his career, Branden Dawson has been named (Co-)Big Ten Player of the Week after big outings against Rutgers and Michigan.
The performances were peak Dawson: 18 points per game on 71.4 percent shooting, 10.5 rebouhds, 3.5 steals and two blocks in the two wins. He was highly efficient, scoring 17 on seven shots against Rutgers and 19 on nine shots against the Wolverines.
Dawson has been a frustrating player to watch at times, but it's only because he's capable of this every game. For the most part, he's been this kind of player in conference play, and the Spartans should be just fine if he keeps it up.
