Michigan State defensive line coach Ron Burton tweeted out the hashtag: #V4MSUx2 in response to four-star recruit, Naquan Jones committing to the Spartans on Monday.
Burton, who is in his third season coaching at East Lansing, as seen four interior linemen commit in a four day span, beginning with defensive ends Josh King (Illinois) and Auston Robertson (Indiana). Earlier Monday morning, three-star defensive tackle Mike Panasiuk verbally committed to MSU at his high school (Lake Park).
Jones said nothing but good things about Burton to 247Sports, who described the former NFL veteran as honest and real.
"He’s just real. He’s a real person. He’s real with you. He’s honest with you," Jones said. "He told me I will have to come in and work hard because of their depth on the defensive line. He was telling me like we have seen you play and what you are capable of doing and come here and show us what you got basically."
Jones, a 6-foot-4, 283 pounder from Illinois (Evanston), narrowed down his school of choice to MSU, Florida and South Carolina, but had offers from Michigan, Ohio State, Nebraska and Penn State, among others.
The junior is the No. 5 overall player in the state of Illinois by 247Sports and No. 1 ranked defensive tackle by Scout.com.
With the commitment from Jones, MSU's 2016 recruiting class now ranks No. 6 by 247Sports and could jump to No. 4 in the nation by Rivals.com.
