Mark Dantonio isn’t ready for Michigan State’s season to end

“I don’t think we’re that far away.”

While some Michigan State Spartans fans might be ready for the season to end regardless of what happens this weekend, MSU’s coach would keep on going if he could:

“I wish we played 18 games, then I could work 17 weeks in a row,” Mark Dantonio says in the above clip posted by 730 WVFN.

Okay, that was a joke. But his next statement wasn’t.

“I’d like to continue to play and try to play ourselves into something, because I don’t think we’re that far away,” he said. “I really don’t. I see good things out there.”

Dantonio, ever the competitor, points out the Spartans are set to play their fourth top-10 opponent this weekend, and repeats that he doesn’t think his team is that far away from success.

“I think you want to keep on competing. I’m quite sure a lot of our players would not want the season to end.”
