Michigan State and Notre Dame both had vastly disappointing seasons in 2016, but the Spartans coach isn’t going anywhere, while there is a lot of talk that Fighting Irish coach Brian Kelly might be.
If he heads elsewhere who does Notre Dame turn to? Here’s an interesting choice:
If Brian Kelly leaves Notre Dame, the name I'm hearing ND would pursue is Mark Dantonio.https://t.co/7r0YC9MAtQ

It seems like a long shot for many reasons. Dantonio did just wrap up a 3-9 season, has been at MSU for a decade and is 60 years old.
Not surprisingly, the tweet from McIntyre, who writes for The Big Lead and regularly appears on Fox Sports 1, was met with lots of resistance.
@jasonrmcintyre No chance Dantonio leaves MSU.
