SB Nation’s Mock NFL Draft has Malik McDowell Going No. 16 to the Buffalo Bills

Defensive lineman could be headed for the League.

The Michigan State Spartans have wrapped up an extremely disappointing 2016 season, but that hasn’t hurt the draft stock of Malik McDowell.

The junior defensive lineman has to decide whether or not to return for his senior season. If the answer is no, he’s a likely first-round NFL Draft choice.

SB Nation’s latest mock draft has him going at No. 16 overall to the Buffalo Bills:

McDowell is an imposing player at 6'6 and 276 pounds, and would fit perfectly as an end in Buffalo's defense. Putting him next to Marcell Dareus could allow McDowell to either stay at home and play the run or use his explosive burst to rush the passer.

The Detroit native missed the Spartans’ final three games of the season with an injury and may not want to risk any further damage with another year of college football.

However, returning for one last campaign, if successful, could have the effect of pushing his draft stock even higher.
