Tom Izzo recaps Michigan State’s win over Saginaw Valley State

The Spartans showed a lot of promise in their latest exhibition game, highlighted by big games from a pair of freshman.

Wednesday night saw the Michigan State Spartans wrap up the exhibition season with an 87-77 win over Saginaw Valley State.

Four different Spartans scored in double figures, led by freshmen Miles Bridges and Cassius Winston, who had 20 and 18 points, respectively.

MSU led by as much as 19 in the contest, but the Cardinals cut the deficit to seven with just under seven minutes remaining. The Spartans battled and pushed the lead back to 15 to close out the game and come away with the victory.

Needless to say, this talented but young group of Spartans have a lot of work to do before opening the regular season with a brutal slate of games, including Arizona, Kentucky, and the Battle 4 Atlantis within the first month.
