It’s game time for the Michigan State Spartans and Illinois Fighting Illini.

The Spartans (2-6, 0-5 in Big Ten) fell to No. 2 Michigan last week at home, 32-23, while the Illini (2-6, 1-4 in Big Ten) dropped a 40-17 home game to Minnesota. Both teams still have remote shots at making it to a bowl game, but those chances drop to zero without a win today.

Saturday’s game marks the 46th meeting between MSU and Illinois. The Spartans lead the all-time series 26-17-2, including a 13-9-1 record in games played in Champaign.

MSU has won 12 of the last 13 meetings in the series, including a 42-3 victory in the last meeting on Oct. 26, 2013, in Memorial Stadium

The Spartans will be making another quarterback change for this game after redshirt freshman Brian Lewerke was lost for the remainder of the season after suffering a broken tibia in the fourth quarter of last week’s game. Senior Tyler O’Connor will be drawing the start today.

The game will be broadcast on ESPN News and WatchESPN.
