Michigan State favored by 14.5 over Rutgers

Let’s get that first conference win.

NCAA Football: Michigan State at Illinois Mike Granse-USA TODAY Sports

When the Rutgers Scarlet Knights and Michigan State Spartans meet on the gridiron this Saturday, one of them will pick up their first Big Ten win of the season.

It looks like the gamblers are going with the home team.

The line for MSU-Rutgers opened with the Spartans a hefty 15.5-point favorite. It has now dropped every so slightly to 14.5, but that’s still a wide margin for two teams with the same record.

While Michigan State was all but eliminated from bowl contention last week and all eyes are firmly on next season (and basketball), any win would feel great for the program right now.
