“Michigan State, that’s a dream offer.”

The Michigan State Spartans offered 2018 defensive tackle Cam Goode back on Nov. 30, becoming the 10th overall offer for the Washington, DC product:

While any high school player would be excited to receive an offer, Goode was something closer to overjoyed, according to Land of 10.

This is how the conversation went down between Goode and his high school coach, Joe Casamento.

Casamento: “Cam, you got an offer from Michigan State.”

Goode: “Coach, are you joking?”

Casamento: “Do I look like I’m a person that jokes?”

With that, Goode took off outside and ran around telling his friends before they headed home. He headed back inside and ran around the whol school to find anyone he had missed. Then he called his mom and dad, who were just as surprised.

“They said the same thing: ‘Are you joking?’ ”Goode recalled. “And I’m like, ‘No I am not.’ ”

Now that’s a kid who’s ready to become a Spartan!

Goode stands 5-11 and 315 pounds, and his previous offer list included Boston College and Pitt. He hadn’t heard from MSU and didn’t expect to, calling it a “dream offer.”

While 5-11 is pretty short by Big Ten standards, Goode makes up for it in speed and agility. Check out his game here:
