Targets for whoever wins the quarterback derby in the spring to throw to isn’t going to be a concern as Michigan State preps for 2017.
Connor Heyward became Mark Dantonio’s latest commitment for the 2017 class on Thursday as Dantonio’s weekend visit to Georgia paid off.
Heyward, a 6-foot-2, 215-pound athlete from Peachtree Ridge in Suwanee, Ga., quite possibly could follow in Donnie Corley’s footsteps as a two-way standout.

Either way, he’ll join Corley, Felton Davis III, Cam Chambers and Trishton Jackson among the deep receiving corps available to Brian Lewerke or Messiah deWeaver.
Heyward had scholarship offers from 11 other Power 5 schools and is the 17th player to pledge his commitment to Dantonio and his staff for 2017.
