Michigan State is going to see a familiar face on the opposing bench at Munn Arena beginning in 2017.

Notre Dame, with head coach and MSU alum Jeff Jackson, have just announced they are leaving the Hockey East conference and joining the B1G Ten in the 2017-2018 season. This is only the second single sport affiliate to join in the history of the conference (John Hopkins was the first for lacrosse in 2015).

Michigan State is familiar with the team from South Bend, as they were members of the CCHA from 1992 until the conference dissolved in 2013.

This undoubtedly raises the strength of the conference as a whole, but what do you think it means for Michigan State hockey?
