It doesn't get any better for Michigan State Spartans basketball when it comes to academics.
The team has posted a perfect Academic Progress Rate (APR) score of 1,000 for the five-year period ending with the 2014-15 season. According to MLive.com, out of 350 NCAA Division 1 basketball teams the Spartans are one of only 18 to earn the top score.
APR measures a series of criteria including eligibility, retention and graduation rates.
The Spartans football team scored a 978, not far from a perfect score. Incredibly, this is also the 11th-straight year the squad's score has improved. Programs scoring below 930 are subject to penalties, however, none of Michigan State's athletics teams measured below that threshold.
