The Michigan State Spartans are no longer the only Power 5 school handling multimedia rights in house.
MSU has finalized a 15-year agreement with FOX Sports that should be worth at least $150 million. For comparison, in 2008 Michigan signed a 12-year deal with IMG College worth $86 million, according to the Lansing State Journal.
The deal should bring in about $10 million per year, which is reportedly about $3 million more than the current amount, and is one of the highest-paying nationally. FOX Sports Detroit and the Big Ten Network are both FOX Sports properties.
Michigan State is the fifth school to sign such a deal with FOX, and the first Big Ten school. The company's duties will include advertising that the school and Spartan Sports Network used to handle.
