Mark Dantonio has won the 2016 Gene Stalling humanitarian award for his efforts with the Children's Miracle Network and the Lansing Boys and Girls Club.

Dantonio was presented with the award at the Dallas Country Club. The award is named for former Alabama coach Gene Stallings, whose son Johnny was born with Down Syndrome and a heart defect. Money raised from the award benefits children with disabilities.

The Michigan State coach has served as honorary chairman for the Children's Miracle Network and hosted telethons for the organization. It's the second-straight year Dantonio has won an honor based on community involvement as he also won the 2015 Bobby Dodd coach of the year award.
