Jacub Panasiuk commits to Michigan State Spartans

Jacub Panasiuk will eventually join his brother, Mike Panasiuk, at Michigan State next year as Jacub is a 2017 recruit.

On Thursday, the Michigan State Spartans landed a commitment from defensive lineman Jacub Panasiuk.

Panasiuk, a three-star lineman in the Class of 2017, announced his verbal commitment to Michigan State on Thursday at a ceremony at his high school, Lake Park West. He later confirmed the news via Twitter:

At 6-3, 266 pounds, Panasiuk could play inside or outside along the defensive line at the next level. His older brother, Mike Panasiuk, signed with the Spartans in the 2016 class. 247 Sports has Jacub ranked as the 32nd-best defensive end in 2017, while Scout.com has him as a the 49th-ranked end.

The Roselle, IL native is also ranked by 247 as the 14th-overall prospect from the state of Illinois. As a junior last year, Jacub racked up 56 tackles, 14.5 tackles for loss and four sacks.

Though college coaches are not permitted to tweet directly at or about specific recruits, Mark Dantonio did give a nice subtweet shoutout to his newest commitment.

The latter tweet translates into 'Congratulations on your Big Day! Spartan Pride! Goin to keep it Rollin! #V4MSU!'

It's not often see a coach go even that much out of his way to tweet about a new commitment, so Dantonio and his staff must be really happy with their newest pledge.

Prior to his decision, Panasiuk was down to Michigan State, Penn State, Indiana and Minnesota. Here's a look at his highlights package:
