MSU has long had a prestigious gymnastics program that prides itself in having members who live up to the term student-athlete and there is no one who more perfectly embodies that Lisa Burt.
Lisa is leaving Michigan State after accumulating more points than any other Spartan in MSU gymnastics history. On top of that she is a back to back team MVP, two time All Big Ten performer, three time post season participant and the 15th individual to compete in Nationals for Michigan State.
Not only was Burt an amazing gymnast on the mat, but she was exceptional in the classroom as she was twice an Academic All-Big Ten selection (2015, 2016). Her coach, Kathie Klages told MSU Athletics, "She not only had a superb athletic career which helped raise the national level of our program; but also has performed in the classroom with excellent academics. We are honored to have her represent the gymnastics program at Michigan State with this prestigious award."
Congrats to Lisa Burt on this honor and an amazing career with the Spartans.
