The Michigan State Spartans basketball team wrapped up its summer workouts with a beach session at Lake Michigan.
Watch above as Todd Moyer, the team’s strength and conditioning coach, takes them through a series of exercises that are a little different from your typical day at the beach.
MSU's "summer beach challenge" splits the squad into two teams competing in eight events. Players roll over the sand, sprint 50 yards, carry each other, pull heavy weights, flip tires, compete in a tug of war and more before it’s all over.
"It’s a great feeling to end the summer right," says senior guard Alvin Ellis III. "We’re just having some fun now."
