WATCH: BTN Talks Michigan State Quarterbacks

“I think they’re both performing at a high level right now.”

The Michigan State Spartans will be fielding a new quarterback this fall now that Connor Cook, the most successful QB in program history, has left for the NFL.

The race to replace Cook includes Tyler O’Connor, Damion Terry and Brian Lewerke, with MSU offensive coordinator Dave Warner telling the Big Ten Network competition is fierce.

"I think they're both performing at a high level right now," Warner says. "You've got Terry, who's in there doing a great job, and Lewerke both pushing O'Connor, who obviously has the experience. Those guys are growing, getting better every day and it's good competition."

Later on, O'Connor and Terry also make a BTN appearance to talk about the quarterback situation.

"You really look at it as competing against yourself," O'Connor says. "You don't compete against each other because you're never out there on the field at the same time."
