Michigan State has missed out on one of their top big man targets in 2017.
On Thursday, five-star center Malik Williams announced his commitment to Louisville.
I would like to thank all schools that recruited me but I will be committing to the University of Louisville #L1C4 pic.twitter.com/CDZxEZydc2

Williams, who is ranked 30th in his class by Scout.com and 22nd by 247, holds offers from the likes of Indiana, Maryland, Michigan State, UCLA, Purdue and N.C. State among many others.
A 7-0, 200-pound big out of Fort Wayne (IN), Williams took a recruiting visit to UofL earlier this week and appeared to be closing in on a decision. He unofficially visited the Spartans back on June 29th.
Williams' 247 Crystal Ball had the Spartans behind UofL leading up to his announcement, so it's probably safe to say this was an expected loss for MSU. Other bigs that the Spartans are in the running for in 2017 include Xavier Tillman, Brandon McCoy and Isaiah Livers.
Still, it’s tough to see MSU miss out on another big man after losing so many this offseason, not to mention Ben Carter and Gavin Schilling, two possible starters, will graduate next year.
