It didn’t take long for the Spartans to find themselves trailing at Notre Dame, but it took even less time for them to respond with a authority.
After Notre Dame’s Miles Boykin fumbled a punt that Michigan State recovered, Tyler O’Connor hit Donnie Corley for an amazing touchdown catch in the end done. Corley had to go up and win a jump-ball over Notre Dame corner Donte Vaughn for the score.

On the ensuing play, MSU passed on kicking an extra point as Matt Macksood threw a pass to Josiah Price for the two-point conversion.
Just like that, MSU went from trailing 7-0 to leading 8-7, but that wasn’t the first time Corley made that grab.
Back in high school, Corley made the same kind of catch to help lead Detroit Martin Luther King to a Division 2 state championship win over Lowell.
Corley’s 40-yard TD catch with no time on the clock completed an incredible comeback for a 40-38 victory:

Less than a year later, Corley is doing the same thing for Michigan State at Notre Dame.
