Former Michigan State Spartans defensive back and Calgary Stampeder Mylan Hicks was tragically killed early Sunday in a nightclub shooting.
Today, MSU coach Mark Dantonio talked about the tragedy and said Hicks will be honored during the game against Indiana:
Hicks, 23 and a Detroit native, recorded 19 tackles and four pass breakups during his senior year in 2014.
Dantonio said Hicks always loved to wear back, and so the team will wear black socks and shoes for the road game along with a No. 6 sticker on the team’s helmets. There are still 41 players on the roster who played with Hicks.
“He’ll be in a lot of people’s minds as we move forward,” Dantonio said.
