The Michigan State Spartans have scored another commitment, though this one comes in the 2018 class.
On Friday, Xavier Henderson became MSU's first commitment in the class of 2018. He announced his decision on his twitter page:
Very excited to announce my commitment as a student athlete to Michigan State University! #GoGreen pic.twitter.com/Yx9eIjmJrU

A junior four-star athlete at Pickerington (Ohio) Central, Henderson is ranked by 247 Sports as the 163rd-best prospect in 2018, the 11th-best athlete prospect, and the seventh-best player from the state of Ohio, continuing MSU's success in the Buckeye state.
"I feel great," Henderson told 247 Sports. "I'm real excited to be a part of the Michigan State football program."
As of now, Henderson will be a defensive back in East Lansing, but could play either corner or safety. He's currently listed at 6-0 and 189 pounds, a good build for a high school junior.
Henderson is the younger cousin of Spartans linebacker Ed Davis, who was just granted his sixth year of eligibility on Friday. Not a bad day to kick off the weekend for MSU.
