The big news this morning was that Miles Bridges’ will be returning but another freshman, Nick Ward, has been holding down the fort in a major way in his absence.
The Spartans look to be turning the corner with consecutive wins over Minnesota — who just went on the road and won at Purdue — and Northwestern, and Ward has been arguably the biggest reason why. Once again, he was recognized as the best freshman in the conference...
MSU's Nick Ward named Big Ten Freshman of the Week for 2nd straight week and 3rd time this season. Averaged 16.5 ppg, 9.5 rpg in 2 wins.— Chris Solari (@chrissolari) January 2, 2017
That’s back to back weeks winning the award for our friend Big Puddin’, and his third time in the last five weeks. To say he’s been a pleasant surprise is a massive understatement...almost as big as saying that we’re a little excited to see the new and improved Ward and a healthy Bridges on the floor together once again.
