The long time ESPN and CBS play-by-play announcer Brent Musburger announced his plan to hang up the microphone after January 31st after nearly 40 years in the booth calling everything from baseball, basketball, and most noteably, college football.
Brent has worked for ESPN since 1990 and most Spartan fans recognize his signature “You are looking live” catchprase as the broadcast would begin. He is leaving the booth and moving to Las Vegas to start a sports handicapping business with his family, he told the Associated Press.
While Brent called some of the biggest games on the national stage for ESPN and ABC it got us thinking about some of the best Michigan State plays he lent his voice to over the years. While none may be as famous as his interest in AJ McCarron’s then girlfriend Katherine Webb, here are some of our favorites:
Cousins to Nichol Hail Mary to beat Wisconsin
Domata Peko’s 74 yard Fumble Recovery vs Michigan
Kyler Elsworth Stop to Win the Rose Bowl
What are some of yours?
