The Spartans will be looking to improve to 4-0 in Big Ten play when they hit the road to face Penn State on Saturday.
Michigan State has finally gotten its season back on track, highlighted by three straight wins to start conference play, the last of which came with star freshman Miles Bridges back in action after a missing more than a month.
Bridges came off the bench in Wednesday’s win over Rutgers, and one would think he could be back to starting today, or at least get a bigger workload. After missing all seven games in December with a left ankle injury, Bridges totaled six points and six rebounds in 17 minutes in a blowout win over the Scarlet Knights.
Michigan State leads the all-time series with Penn State, 36-7, although the Nittany Lions own a 2-0 advantage in neutral-site contests, though both games came in the Big Ten Tournament.
The Spartans have won 20 of the last 24 games in the series, including the last seven, and 28 of the last 33. Tom Izzo is 29-6 in his career against Penn State. Let’s hope win No. 30 is coming today.
