Big Ten hoops moving to 20 game conference schedule

Future MSU-UM matchups to occur twice per season

NCAA Basketball: Nebraska at Michigan State Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

It was announced on Thursday by the Big Ten that the men’s basketball schedule will turn to 20 conference games starting in 2018-19.

Even better? The MSU-UM rivalry is guaranteed to be featured twice as the Big Ten has elected to protect that matchup along with Northwestern-Illinois and Indiana-Purdue. Luckily for the Spartans, this year’s lone matchup is at Breslin Center on Jan. 13.

In the 20-game conference schedule, teams will face seven opponents two times and the other six just once.
