The Michigan State Spartans look to pick up their seventh win of the season when they face the Northwestern Wildcats today.
This marks the 56th meeting between Michigan State and Northwestern. The Spartans lead the all-time series 37-18, including a 19-10 record in games played in Evanston. Michigan State has won five of the last seven meetings against Northwestern, but the Wildcats topped the Spartans last season in Spartan Stadium, 54-40.
In Michigan State’s last trip to Evanston in 2013, the Spartans clinched the Big Ten Legends Division title on their way to winning the Big Ten Championship and Rose Bowl.
Mark Dantonio is 5-3 in his tenure against Northwestern, while 12th-year Wildcat head coach Pat Fitzgerald is 3-6 in his career against Michigan State.
