Mark Dantonio has once again found a way to guide Michigan State past their vaunted rival.
This time, it was a win over the Michigan Wolverines in Ann Arbor. Brian Lewerke ran for a touchdown and threw for a score in the first half and the Spartans held on to beat the No. 7 Michigan 14-10 on Saturday.
Michigan State has beaten Michigan eight times in a 10-year stretch for the first time in a series that dates to 1898.
"I told our football team, every player that comes here, to dream big," Dantonio said.
The Wolverines had the ball late with a chance to drive for a go-ahead TD, but a heave from the Spartans 37 as time expired hit the turf near the goal line.
