The Spartans reeled in 2018 commitment No. 19 today and, folks, it’s a big one.
Four-star athlete Kalon Gervin out of Cass Tech in Detroit announced he’s going green, picking the Spartans over 39 other schools he held offers with. The former Notre Dame commit also held offers from Oregon, Alabama, Oklahoma and Virginia Tech.

Gervin stands at 5-foot-10 and played defensive back for Cass Tech, who has constantly produced elite athletes in recent years. 247Sports has him ranked as the No. 194-ranked recruit in the country and also the No. 20-ranked cornerback in the country.
Other defensive back recruits include 3-stars Xavier Henderson (Pickerington, Ohio), Michael Dowell (Lakewood, Ohio), Davion Williams (Belleville, Mich.) and Christian Jackson (Marletta, Ga.).
