We got some good news and we got some bad news. Let’s start with the bad.
2018 wide receiver Joseph Scates is no longer a Michigan State commit.
Thanks to all the MSU fans for the love shown ...... but I've decided to open my recruitment back up.... pic.twitter.com/i2iaNNuxo7

His de-commitment came in the wake of an Alabama offer and there are conflicting reports as to whether Scates academic progress may have led MSU to pull his offer. Either way, Scates is back on the market and we wish him nothing but the best of luck.
Now for the good stuff. After securing two Georgia natives — Tre Person and Connor Heyward — in the 2017 class, the Spartans are back in business in the Peach State in 2018, today receiving a commitment from three-star cornerback Christian Jackson of Lassiter High School in Marietta, GA.

Jackson recently visited both Ann Arbor and East Lansing and wasted very little time in pulling the trigger to MSU afterwards. He is an MSU legacy, after all.
At 6’1” 183, he fits the DB profile MSU loves and joins Ohioan Xavier Henderson as the second defensive back of the ‘18 class. Check out his junior year highlights below.
