Well, THAT was stressful. After a nerve wracking Selection Show, we can now confirm that the streak is OFFICIALLY alive and the Spartans are headed to the NCAA Tournament for the 20th straight year. They’re headed to Tulsa to face number #8 seed Miami.

Take a look a the top part of the bracket

It wasn’t pretty but being an 9 seed is quite a bit better than expected as the Spartans went into the B1G Tourney as a potential bubble team, though those worries were cast aside with their massive win over Penn State on Thursday.

This MSU team has perhaps the most talented class of freshman we have ever seen together in East Lansing, led by phenom (and likely top 10 draft pick) Miles Bridges. Miles and his Big Ten Freshman of the year award (along with all-freshman and all-Big Ten second team selections) will team up with Nick Ward and Co to try and end this season on a high note.

Their opponent, Miami, has had an up and down season of their own. They finished 21-11 and 7th in the ACC but have impressive wins against UNC, Virginia and Duke on their resume. Should MSU get past the Canes, a date with #1 seed Kansas awaits and all of the Josh Jackson storylines along with it.

Have fun filling out your brackets and keep it locked to TOC for more analysis in the coming days.
