The Spartans are set to open Big Ten Tournament play today as they face Penn State.
Michigan State is the 5 seed in the tournament and will face 13 seed Penn State, who narrowly beat Nebraska in Wednesday’s action. The winner of this game will advance to Friday’s action against 4 seed Minnesota.
The Spartans have won three of the last five Big Ten Tournaments and advanced to the title game in four of the last five seasons. They need to make a similar run this year to ensure they’re off the bubble come Selection Sunday.
