While Spartan Nation’s concern is (rightfully) focused on the how the 2017 basketball recruiting class will finish up, the work has already begun on the following class.
With at least three scholarships — and possibly a few more — opening up, 2018 is an important year. Tom Izzo clearly knows this and has locked up a few key contributors, in point guard Foster Loyer and power forward Thomas Kithier, both of whom find themselves in the updated Rivals150

You have to dig a bit to find them, but Loyer (#92) and Kithier (#97) both made the top 100.
Last year, Loyer led Clarkston High School to the Michigan State championship, beating Xavier Tillman in the State Championship along the way, and was AAU teammates with Kithier, whose refined offensive game and size (6’8”) signal he could be a stretch-four in the making.
There are a few other MSU targets a little further up the list, as well, including East Lansing’s Brandon Johns (#43), guard David Singleton (#57), forward Hameir Wright (#83) and Detroit forward Trevion Williams (#91) — all but Singleton hold MSU offers.
It’s a ways away, but the Spartans are already off to a stellar start in 2018.
