The Michigan State Spartans are no longer the lone favorite to win the 2018 NCAA Tournament.
The latest odds from Bovada has the Spartans tied with the Duke Blue Devils for the best odds to win it all next year. Duke has climbed into a tie thanks to the recent additions of four-star wing Jordan Tucker and five-star point guard Trevon Duval, as well as the decision by Grayson ‘Tripper’ Allen to return for his senior season.
Duke was the preseason favorite to win it all last season, but they made it as far as the Spartans did as both went down in the Round of 32. Both teams return multiple star upperclassmen while adding some impact freshman.
If a game was to be played between the two right now, I’d give the edge to the Spartans, who will return four of their top-five scorers, whereas Duke returns just one of their top-five scorers.
